She received her bachelor’s in biology from UNC Greensboro where she received an undergraduate research grant for her plant genetics research. Melisha’s biological background includes virology, cytogenetics, and human DNA R&D. She began her career in business operations and finance by taking lead roles in genetics research projects.
Melisha graduated from Fayetteville State University with her MBA and began her executive management career with UNC Coronavirus Testing Facility as the QA Director. She also has experience managing operational systems in healthcare facilities as well as building the foundational framework for struggling and start up companies.
Melisha is currently pursuing her PhD in Business concentrating in accounting with efforts to receive her CPA license. She is also a dedicated career and financial counselor aiming to improve the access for career opportunities. She is very community oriented and aims to increase financial literacy and small business ownership in underprivileged demographics.
Melisha values discipline and the lifelong pursuit of knowledge. Melisha is best known for her innovative ideas, strategic decisions, and engaging personality. She is excited to serve as the Chief Operating Officer and wants to bring as much value as she can to Left Hook’s awesome team.
