Position: Chief Operating Officer

Location: Remote

Left Hook, a political media, strategy and public affairs firm, is hiring a Chief Operating Officer to manage the organization's operations portfolio and provide day-to-day support to employees. This position is remote.

Responsibilities include:
Comprehensively managing Left Hook’s (LH) operations portfolio which is responsible for the firm’s day-to-day operations
Onboarding employees and managing benefits, expenses, and staff reimbursement requests 
Managing HR processes including hiring process

Overseeing the firm’s fellowship program

Oversight of LH financial systems including overseeing the Chief Financial Officer
Managing office systems and serving as a primary liaison with vendors and service providers
Maintaining relationships with building management for organization’s west coast office 
Overseeing payroll processing and payroll tax processing 
Additional duties may include building out additional benefits portfolio, managing LH legal systems, and oversight of integration and streamlining of LH financial processes
Other duties as assigned 

The ideal candidate will have:
At minimum five years related professional experience
Superior organizational skills with an ability to multi-task and balance competing timelines
Strong attention to detail
Strong judgment and the ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality 
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Previous experience managing staff preferred 
Experience running payroll
Strong command of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel 
Strong command of Google Drive applications, particularly Forms, Sheets, and Docs

The salary for this position ranges from $90,000-$100,000 annually. Left Hook offers a competitive salary and a strong benefits package.
